About the 2024 Pride Background

The 2024 Pride backdrop was designed and created by artist and Creative Partner, Chandrayee Soneja.  Each year the campaign utilizes a different Pride backdrop to capture beautiful photos as part of the Show Your Pride campaign.  The narrative below represents the Chandrayee’s interpretation of the backdrop, which is a beautiful work of art utilized for the 2024 Show Your Pride Campaign.

RESILIENCE, DIVERSITY & UNITY (2024)

By Chandrayee Soneja (she/her)

The 2024 Pride backdrop serves as a visual representation of the LGBTQ+ community's resilience, diversity, and unity. Each strip of color in the rainbow flag intertwines and reflects the interconnectedness of various identities and experiences within the LGBTQ+ community.

Incorporating the colors of the trans flag colors adds another layer of symbolism. The pink, blue, and white hues of the trans flag represent diversity, perseverance, and visibility within the transgender community.  Instead of placing the trans colors in the traditional format of the progressive flag along the edges, these colors are integrated throughout the entire backdrop to reflect the interconnectedness of the community as well as the vulnerability of the trans community, which faces staggering levels of discrimination and violence.

Together, the rainbow and trans flag colors create a dynamic and inclusive tapestry, illustrating the beauty of diversity and the strength found in unity. It invites individuals to see themselves reflected in its vibrant colors and encourages them to embrace their authentic selves, knowing they are part of a community that celebrates and uplifts each other.

Whether displayed at Pride events, community gatherings, or supportive spaces, the Show Your Pride backdrop serves as a powerful affirmation of LGBTQ+ identity, resilience, and Pride.
